need suggestions

so ive been listening to trance for about two years now and love it! just recently i though that i should start to create my own trance songs. i downloaded fruity loops (demo version) and find it difficult to use. I was just wondering if the real version is better or if there is any other programs that are better. Also i was wondering if there is anything else to make the whole process easier. thanks.

There are a whole lot of programs that are better (in my opinion).

However, I think there are only very few that are easier than FL studio.

If you find FL studio a problem try some magix or ejay products. It's not as flexible but it will teach you how to create basic song structures/arrangements. Maybe afterwards take the step up to FL studio?

Of course you could try the tiesto VST, good stuff!

Making music is a rather difficult proces which involves a lot of work. If you're working with sequencers for the first time, I know it's pretty hard get the hang of it, but as Storyteller said, Fruityloops is one of the easier sequencers.

Magix or Ejay would be good to begin with, I used it in my first year. One disadvantage (which is pretty major) is that you can only drop and drap samples, but as said, this is a good way to practice the progression in a track.

I think it's best for you to learn Fruityloop. Lookup some tutorials or maybe video's on youtube on how to use it, maybe you can get a copy of the manual somewhere.
It's hard in the beginning, but making music requires a lot, and I mean A LOT of practice, reading and experimenting. But that is the fun part.
It's also advisable to read the Tutorial master list as it contains loads of tips, tutorials and advice.

i use fruit loops 7xxl that is and it's taken me about a year now to get to grips with it.but have faith in what you do and software you use.it doesnt realy matter what program you use in the begining because it's all trile and error and you will learn somthing new every time you are in the studio.

Forget about Magix and Ejay, that stuff's not real creativity. Find another DAW that works better for you. Look at Ableton Live, Sonar, Cubase or Reaper. FL has a strange workflow which is completely unlike any other DAW. Then just sit down and start trying to understand. If you have friends who produce, then just sit in on one of their sessions some time if they'll let you, you'll learn a lot of basics which just can't be expressed.

Youtube is your friend! I wish that web page was around, when I started out.
There should be nice videos of every daw out there, showing you the basics of operating the sequencer.
FL studio is really simple, yet very effective and advanced. But there are others of course. I would recommend FL studio, because of it's VERY quick workflow, and the ability to lay down ideas is seconds.
The step sequencer is brilliant, and it's piano roll might still be the best in the business. (!!)
Beware though, you won't reap glory and honor by using fl studio, among lots of guys. Some people look upon it as the "fisher price" software
in the bunch.
I had to quit using it after 2yrs though. I just grew tired of it's looks, and it's workflow.
I used cubase for a year or so, and now I'm using logic - which is 90% of what I'd want in a daw.

Its been proven before that the sound of each DAW is identical, its all about how you use it.

There really isn't anything wrong with FL, except as you mentioned the UI (which i am also getting bored of). If it really is that much of a problem, then dont tell anyone you use FL.

I dont know why, but I just have difficulties in using FL. Dont know what it is, but I just find it difficult! lol, I find reason a doddle to use. Im not a fan of the UI in FL but some of the songs I have heard produced in FL are awsome, people tend to snub it sometimes because it doesnt "look" professional.

I absolutely agree, and the remark about FL users being ridiculed to some extent, was not very seriously meant. Though it's ytrue to some extent.
I never had any problems telling people that I used FL studio, but found myself defending it almost every time.
