sweeps and swooshes

hi

Im wanting to make my own sweeps and swooshes using logic 8. How do i do this and whats the best synth / technique?

Also how would I make a pumping steam sound used a lot by Dubfire.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Usually just (white ?) noise with a filter on it, may use lfo's to create a kind of "wobble" effect, im sure others can explain further - of they can be bothered.

Itīs called the "test oscillator" on the instrument list.
There you have all sorts of sources! Saw, square, white, pink etc.

I like to use the ES P with the Noise Oscillator turned all the way up and the other oscillators turned down.

Open ES P, and turn all the OSC types down except the Noise Osc. The on the Amp Envelope, turn the attack, decay and release all the way down and turn the Sustain all the way up. The use the cutoff to sweep (or use a third party filter plugin to sweep, as I do).

The ES P has this cheesy chorus setting that gives the noise a certain sound I like.
