I've gotten my Nord Rack 2x and 3 as well as my Prophet 08 to fit. The Prophet 08 rack has a recessed back panel, so it fit fine. My Nord 3 required me to drop it down a space and extend into the gap at the bottom as you mentioned. It doesn't look bad at all IMO. The other alternative is to buy right-angle plugs, but I had no luck finding anyone who had right-angle MIDI cables in stock.
edit: I just realized that the JP-8080 is a 6U, whereas the Nord 3 is spec'ed as a 5U, which fits fine but takes up pretty much all the available space. I also read that the JP-8080 has a pretty deeply recessed back panel, so that's good. Also, the Creation Station racks are angled slightly forward, which means that the top/back of your synths will be pointing slightly downward, giving you more space in back/top meaning that you may be able to mount the JP-8080 all the way to the top (whereas I had to drop my Nord 3 down one rack space because it doesn't have much recession in the back). I'd still guess that it's going to be a pretty tight squeeze to get a 6U synth into a 4U+bottom gap space, though. Hopefully I explained all that clearly.
Where's Alanzo? He also has a Creation Station and I believe that he owned a JP-8080 at one time.
