Possibly, do you have the Firewire version or the PCI card version?

Get a MOTU 2408 mk3 and an Apogee Mini-DAC or Benchmark DAC-1 ... you can use the S/PDIF output from the 2408 into the DAC. Less I/O and you get a killer DAC.

Well, there isnt really a problem. My original post was more of a "Request for Comments" post. I had this all planned out in my head, just wanted to run by a few people I know and some people on here to make sure there wasn't a better option, or that I wasn't missing something.

Honestly, your opinion is probably going to be the most valuable for me, since you have the exact AI setup I'm thinking of using (including the exact same monitors).

Well this option allows me to get the most out of my studio setup without spending a bunch of extra money. I can pretty much sell a few things I don't use anymore to pay for this upgrade, rather than having to find the money somewhere to pay for it. If I had the cash, I'd probably go for a Lynx interface, but I won't have $4,000 anytime soon.

Seeing as how you're in the same boat as me, where you can think of about 5,000 better things to do with the $5,000 it would cost to get one of those converter units, then I'd say you have no better option than a 2408/Mini-DAC combo. You'll love it!
