music dreams

anyone get those dreams where you hear a track, perfectly crisp, from beginning to end and you feel as if it has NEVER been done. this track usually sounds as if it could top the charts its first week, and it sounds fucking AWESOME. then you wake up and you're like "damn, that track was hot, i want to make it"

i had a dream last night about a track i was producing and it sounded so good and promising and then i wake up and its nothing but a distant memory

Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

This happened to me once, but it was more of an orchestral or ambient piece than a dance one. Sounded like something to a movie soundtrack... and, in fact, my dream was like a movie sequence. I don't remember a whole lot about it, other than a woman standing in a field of grain which she had been working on harvesting. The "camera" panned and zoomed up to her and she looks me dead in the eye and begins to sing to the music... just an ad-lib, no words. But, my god, it was beautiful.

I knew I should've tried to get up and put some of the music down, but I had to work and needed the sleep. I was pretty sad that I didn't.

ya i've been having these for the past few weeks. every other night or so i get what sounds like (to me) a great idea but i never remember the meat of the track afterwards. it usually happens when i find new music that really inspires me

last week i had a dream i went to the moon with slylee (don't ask, don't tell ) and as we were rocketing the hell up to space this bomb track starts going. it was like a fusion of vangelis and dub techno

Someone needs to invent a damn "dream recorder" already.

Strangly , I cant seem to hear anything in my dreams (Or is that so?)
I can only 'feel' them , and oddly , sometimes I know that I am dreaming...

it happened to me four or five times, i love it. i never remember the melody but the actual structure of the track i remember and i try to make it. managed to make the build of dreamed of two times, one of them is my best track ever, which got even better a year after when i deleted one part of the track.

edit: one problem with the tracks that i dream of is that their so fucking loud and the bass is so fucking powerful it raises my heartbeat, and the leads is like northern light over sky and the hihats tickles in my ears! then theres the efex, omg the efex are in 3d! up down, left right, back forward, their everywhere! i dont have the stereo nor the patient neighbors to ever recreate it. i have to get gigs soon lol.
