The topic title says it all......how do you build tension in your tracks? tips? tricks? certain methods? etc.

cliche'd way.. filter automation.. teasing the hooks in the intro, taking them out then bringing them back etc.

Adding layers
Going from standard 16 bar changes to 8 bar changes when building to climax.
Loop shortening
Adding or subtracting percussion.


Theres tons.

i mean i spend more time on build ups then i do on anything. tension fro me was the hardest thing to grasp, you just have to fuck with everything in the track. i would say only in the last 3 or 4 mos have i made vast improvements in tension. it's everything

I build a lot of tension with automated amp envelope delay.

I drink Mana Juice. And then I rub my hands together. Eventually i've built a fire at a nano atomic level, which I ctrl + v into my track. And then of course I nuke limit the channel to maxamize the power.

Hmmm thinkin about it Mana Juice might be a goodb brand name for an energy drink. I think ill use it for any finance/economics business idea papers I might have to write. Easy A's
