Losing volume?

Whenever i bounce my track out of logic into mp3 i always lose a ton of volume, even when the master volume is clipping. Any one know what the cause of this is?

volumecontrol in iTunes?

believe me theres a reason why i suggest such a stupid thing. also check the EQ on itunes, it has a volumemeter i think. if its iTunes you are playing with.

i checked and theres no EQ on the song in itunes, and i assume you meant the volume adjustment for an individual song? if i raise that volume does it raise the entire volume of the mp3 or does it only raise the volume of the song when it is in itunes?

Put it in a wave editor, look at the wave, and there u will find the answer.

also check volume normalizer in iTunes. (preferences). if you have another track in your iTunes with a low average level, they might be measured to each other, resulting your track to be lower and the low track to be higher. As ive said thousands of times before: disable everything in iTunes. Try QUICKTIME, same result there? If so theres something with the rendering probably, but im pretty sure its iTunes. We had many threads like this. DISABLE EVERYTHING IN ITUNES.

used to have that same problem a loooong time ago. can't remember what it was, but i believe it had some shit to do with normalizing. then again, i'm probably wrong. i know it randomly started happening to me, then i changed some settings in the bounce menu and it went back to normal

Wait, what?

What sonix is describing is actually true of any DAW - when working on film projects, we ALWAYS print the final mix, NEVER bounce.

The reason is that plugins, edits, automation can behave differently with offline bounces vs printing them in real time. The most accurate way to get a final file in to print it.

just give it a try - bounce one and then print one, then cue up the two files in a daw, flip the phase on one of them. If they are both identical, they should completely cancel out right?

Bounces are fine for a rough mix, but if you want accuracy, always print.
