Dude, the UBK FATSO and the UAD FATSO are based on the same unit (EL FATSO) but firstly Raphie said he's not talking about the UAD one, and secondly the UBK is for the most part a completely different unit. In fact there's only one setting retained from the EL FATSO, and everything esle is very different, to the point I know people who don't even class it as a compressor anymore, more of a dynamics processor.
So no, they are not the same.
Raphie - haven't used it myself but what I'e heard from people i trust is that it's a great unit. Again, I'm not sure I'd buy it if I was looking for a straight up compressor, but for dynamics and warmth, it seems to be a gem. I know a guy who is now using it on all his tracking and he loves it across vocals.
