Studio Colaboration: Expectations and Outcome

Nord Rack 2 / Access Virus / Ableton / Tube Compressor
First time using only gear for synths, Tube compressor replaces PSP vintage warmer.
Went down to my buddy's a couple hours south of San Francisco to work on music. We were tripping because it's so nice to work with someone who knows what they're doing, each of us. Not having to stop and explain anything to each other made the work flow very effective.
So anyway, I messed around with a Nord once, this time, I mean it's just sitting there ready to be used, so we just jumped on that and I started playing chords and after that it pretty much just took off. The sound of that synth is just so inspiring, and using your hands to do everything in real time is really where it's at for me from now on I've decided. Honestly I'm so used to certain VST synths, it was really remarkable to be able to only need the Virus and Nord rack, at first I was a little concerned I might need to use a couple of the synths I have been used to using but after a while that thought just dissolved, and we were engrossed in a studio session. Something also very cool with having 2 people, someone can be on the gear while the other is on the computer.
