Not only that, but once you buy it and take it out the store, you can't upgrade it anymore. The HD is proprietary so you can't upgrade it on your own, the memory is soldered in so you can't upgrade it either, and there's no line in incase you're on the road and wanna do a quick recording. Also, only 2 USB ports sucks!

i think the point isa that thunderbolt makes USB redundant. YOu can buy a hub with a bunch of USB 3 outputs in August, and a ethernet port and display.

Yes, for home it's fine, but on the road I want to eliminate all the clutter. I know when I'm playing out the last think I wanna do is use a hub. I wanna use the least number of cables possible. After all, aren't laptops meant to be mobile?

Do they make a Thunderbolt drive with 7200 rpm? I only ever see 5400.

i have 6 SSD's in RAID 0 via thunderbolt. Drivers have nothing to do with the actual protocol. It is an external version of pciex. There is thunderbolt to firewire 400 , 800 USB 3 and you have 2 thunderbolt making it about 20 times more expandable than usb.
