anyone seen the A1 GP cars? only encountered them in TOCA 3 before last night, channel 9 had a race on. controlled, equal technology, no driving aids, and 530 bhp. exciting & close racing (basically what F1 should be but isnt). each team is a country, they dont even mention the driver names. and yes, theres a team australia (they came 3rd last night).
anyone that loves open wheelers should check out next week's race

yeah, watched them last year too. They are alright.
**wide ranging rant deleted.
Can't get into them that much. Yes the cars provide close racing but its lacking as a package.

yeah, sponsorship is an important point that i missed. damn. motorsport is nothing without those sponsors! as for the schedule, its hardly the first competition ive watched to have issues with confirming events. but youre right, stuff like that needs to be sorted out if its ever gonna take off.
ive just been dying for a new formula since all the best drivers left CART to go to IRL, and then andretti retired i love F1, but its just not close enough for my tastes. so hopfully A1s can fill that little hole

its not that motorsport is nothing without sponsors, but without the money they provide motorsport can't last long

yeah, its the most expensive sport to partake in, thus the sponsors are even more important than usual.

yeah, i love a good rally. problem being that coverage of it isnt nearly as good obviously. i got possum bourne's autograph a few week's before he died. oh, and also greg moore's 3 weeks before he died too. and alex zanardi's a year or 2 before he lost both his legs. im a curse to drivers it seems!
greg moore
alex zanardi
