Flaming Forum

As of late, theres been a fair bit of flaming, a lot of people think it's all good fun, but unfortuneately a lot of people don't like it, and some have even stopped coming to the site because of it. Others tho think it's a bit of fun, and quite enjoy it, IE me.
I've noticed on other clubbing/music forums they have special places where they can vent there anger at people, and it seems to work fairly well, disputes are settled far more quickly.
I already mod an abuse forum (http://www.tranceairwaves.com/forum....php?act=SF&f=4 )thats in it's infancy stage (as the site hasn't been properly launched yet), and I think something like this could help here
Also I think I should be mod so I can lord it up over coup for a bit
*keeps it real*

I think it would work if ppl realised that all flaming should be kept in such a forum, also a chillout type 'posts dont count' would stop spam in it, and give us a place to take out frustrations without disrupting the main forum, like Az, I would also help mod one if needed, I'd be happy to help with it, provided theres a warning on it that its not to be kept too personally

thats where good moderating comes in, anything too personal, posts are edited pink!
also, petty arguements can be removed from a thread, and carried on in this forum

Cool

tbh, i think it should rather be dealt with in ta, as it could, and probably will encourage arguments just to spam.

it would still provoke unruly behaviour. even tho it's in the "right place" so to speak. there is no benefit from this. it may, in theory, reduce flames but i highly doubt it. ppl have reactions to one another's post. they don't go looking for flames to respond to.

it also creates more work for the mod(s) that will be watching over it. it's not needed. doesn't add anything to the site imo.

hehe, you just want less work
I can see your points there, and they are good points, but as I've pointed out, a flaming/piss take/vent forum has benefited other forums
plus I tend to be online a fair bit, and could oversee a lot of stuff

It's a a stupid idea. People will get bored spamming that forum after a few days.

A good piece of flaming shouldn't harm the forum. As long as you have a decent reason to flame, go ahead.

Making such a forum is setting a wrong example.
