Hi, I'm a NYTA that's thinking of going to LA the weekend of June 2-4. Could some of you give me personal reviews for Avalon there. We have an Avalon here in NYC but I wouldn't recommend it. Is it different there? How is the vibe and the crowd? Also, are there any guestlists for Avalon. If so, could you please pm me the name and email of some promoters? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I ask only because I have searched this forum and haven't found much. Thanks.

yea..its nothing like avalon ny. this is more of a theater setting. i guess u can say the crowd is pretty much like crobar. it usually ends at 7. try wiredla.com for guestlists. or add avaland on myspace.

You should go to Spundae first, then go to Avalon later on the night. That way you can experience both venues. They're 5 min away from each other.

He meant the Circus Disco venue where the Spundae club usually takes place. Check out Arena Caf� as well (like on a Friday, when they have Club Heaven)! It's adjacent to Circus Then experience the hell that is Avalon Hollywood where there is hardly ever any trance, fortunately

i THOROUGHLY agree. circus is a LOT better crowd and bartender wise than avalon but avalon aesthetically looks better. i would rather have the dj booth in a position a lot lower than it is at avalon but of course who are we. the other club i really like besides circus is the vanguard. a lot of people didnt like it when i went there the first time but after pvd played there they liked it a lot.

I saw deep dish @avaland@avalon this summer, and the door/staff was really really awful, the crowd was pretty lame, and it was the biggest public cokescene i've ever seen in my life...but as for the soundsystem and the aesthetics of the club, it wasn't bad.

SPUNDAE@CIRCUS way better! You can't go wrong. Avalon is just another theater looking club and it's always a freakin hassle getting in... line wise.

Circus sucks, stick with Avalon.

Srsly, go to Avalon for the bathroom attendant guy alone, so many catch phrases come from that guy. Like this little gem, "hey man, wash yo hands water is free..."
