weird comp issue

hi

recently i had this little bug attack my internet explorer. normally, id have my homepage set to the BBC but it cancels that homepage, and sends me to some strange search page. i can tweak my registry, delete the prog (its called mshp.dll) and it continues to come up.

this URL is what comes up when i load IE

res://mshp.dll/index.html#10213

can anyone help me out? pretty soon, i havta start filling out stuff for college and thus giving out sensitive data so i dont want this thing around when i do that. thanks
