explorer question

I use mozilla firebird as my browser, half because i like it better and half cause explorer was really buggy and crashed a lot. however, lately explorer.exe has been doing illegal operations like every other minute, and It seems i can't close it cause whenever i do manage to ctrl-alt-del it closed it reopens since its like the basis of windows. anyone know any way to stop this besides formatting or reinstalling?
and if you might be able to help but need clarifications lmk

are you talking about explorer.exe or microsoft internet explorer (the web browser)? they are 2 different things

Really they are not. Internet Explorer uses explorer.exe and explorer.exe uses Internet Explorer.


But if your explorer.exe is messed your going to have to reinstall windows.
