What issues are most important to you?

It seems to me as if each person has several issues that are of greater concern to them then others. Politicians seem to only be able to get things done that are of the biggest priority to them, and the things that are lower on their priorities lists remain ignored until a bigger problem grows out of them that merits their response.

So we all care about different things, I thoght it would be fun for all of us to share what issues are most important to us, and what issues your ideal chief executive would care about.

I am aware that this thread has been done before! So STFU and contribute yur opinion, even if you did before in the older threads. I am revisiting this topic because poeple's concerns change quickly, and topics get burried so fast that many people who are here now might not have seen the old thread. The fact that we are geting close to a large election is also part of the motivation for this post.

Heres mine:
Sustainable Lifestyle!
- Nobody in their right mind would believe that we could go on living this way forever and everything would be ok. We are running out of energy, land, food, clean air/water and places to put all our trash. The overconsumption and waste production of America is disgustingly huge, but since making a change for the better is bad for a politicians career and a CEO's pocket book, nobody cares! It pisses me off to no end that the only people who are concerned that we are destroying our world are classified as hippies, feminists, or envrionmental activists. This is everybody's problem, if we keep going in the direction we are headed, we are gona get there eventualy!
- The way people think in this country is so fucked up, it equates to them shitting in other peoples beds and not caring because they aren't the ones who have to sleep in it, but one day were not gonna have any place left to shit except out own beds if the current way of life continues, what better time to life in harmony with nature and each other than now?
- Predictably, neither of the candidates who have been set up to become president of the USA ake more than a sentance worth of mention of the problem of overconsumption, much less have any sort of plan to fix the countless problems that it is creating.
- Am I supposed to just sit and wait for the world to crumble under the rule of powerful people who don't care about it?

Heres some more:
- The drug war, its a huge waste and it is creating more problems then it fixes, we've been thru this arument plenty of times heh.
- Stop passing laws that stop us from partying damnit
- Give congress back their exclusive power to declare war.
- Stop teaching us biased history in school, its just making every American stupid and turning us into big jokes when we ever find ourselves in other countries.
- Tell us where our food and energy comes from and where our trash is going, don't hide the facts from us until we try and figure em out ourselves, I am quite pissed that I wasn't informed of the disgusting shit we are doing while I was in elemenary school. If its bad enough that they can't tell kids about it, then they shouldn't be doing it.

These are my priorities, I have a lot more though. The stuff that the TV and the politicians are concerned about rank much lower on my list.
