why arent countries run like this?
From age X (which gets reviewed every so often to determine if it's the appropriate age), a person is free to declare himself an adult.
With this declaration he must make a choice: either subscribe to all the laws of this country (which will be presented to you), take responsibility for your actions knowing the so & so end results of them (fines, imprisonment, death, forced labor, etc), or leave the country.
Untill he makes that decision, this person is the responsibility of his parents/guardians/orphanage/etc, who can revoke that responsibility once the person reaches age Y (also to be reviewd every so often to determine whether it's the appropriate age).
Are there any flaws in this idea? theoretically or practically? (i havent devoted much thought to it to be honest, but i'd still enjoy some interaction to develop the idea further)
