Most americans are absolutely ignorant of their government's foreign policies and actions in the last 60 years. They don't know about military occupations in almost every other country, about the brutal CIA backed overthrows of leaders around the world and support of US dick sucking dictators in many Central/South American and Southeast asian countries, about the geopolitics of oil, etc. The media had rarely covered what really goes on outside America, and do you expect 95% of the population to read books or do their own research? Hell no, it's easier to watch The Simple Life and Survivor.
