the supreme court rejected this law 2 years ago, and now, with absolutely no fresh 'evidence' or equivalant, the government tries at it again, but this time in a federal court? (which i assume is lower in authority than the supreme court)

even if the government wins at federal court, how will it be any different in the supreme court this time?

Well, as far as I understand, it's a different matter this time: The government want access to some of Google's property (the data). They want this in order to build a stronger argument in the other case.

yeah, i understood that, but according to the story, the case at the supreme court last time was rejected based on free speech; what sort of evidence can they get that will help them against free speech?
