This didn't quite live up, unfortunately. I still thought it was an amazing mix though. I'd only heard of one artist - Nuclear Ramjet - so this was a slab of fresh music for me. While I would agree that all the tunes here could be called trance, there were some interesting selections. One in particular sounded more like Balearic house.
With the mixing, at first I wasn't all that impressed, but then I'm fairly certain I heard some rapid BPM changes indicating that you mixed this on decks? If that's the case, bravo, because isn't far off sounding like a computer-mixed creation.

Can't argue a matter of taste, this is pretty much the kind of stuff that I like from that era Or from the trancier side at least. My favourite mixes ever are Dave Seaman's & Ian Ossia's Renaissance The Mix Collection 4 and Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposures, and I believe they are called epic house so I don't really know. Defining the genres is quite hard because people have different views on them naturally, thats why I'm usually saying that I play progressive-influenced dance music.
This mix is actually made with traktor and decks, but still live of course. All of the tunes are ripped from vinyls except Verticle Beats and Dreaming of Mine that I've bought from Beatport. The problem is that the quality of the vinyls is different and I haven't warped them with Ableton, so the sound is more "alive" compared to the digital ones. Also the structure of the track in the 90's progressive is different compared to the modern progressive, some of them sound more that they are made to be listened as a piece of art and are definately not that dj friendly. And finally the original BPM of the tracks in this mix vary from 128 to 140 if I remember correctly, and given all this its definately harder to mix these older tracks unless youre Sasha or Digweed I think this is my best retro mix technically and structure-wise if you don't count the last three tracks, the mixing is pretty fucking horrible there but I just wanted to introduce those not that well known tunes here
Anyway, thanks heaps for listening and for your constructive feedback! The style of Wintergrooves is definately more of my current sound anyway, and considered the high quality of mixes in this board, I feel quite honored to hear that you find it to be one of the best!
