The good:
I enjoyed this overall, and there were a few tracks I've never heard before. The second track in particular stood out to me.
The neutral:
do want to say this isnt what I was expecting - I had more in mind artists like kalya scintilla, bluetech, radioactive sandwich, and wu wei, as a few examples. obviously the change to a more generalized genre occurred so this isnt a positive or negative. I don't really know why I bring this up as you still hit the genre fairly accurately.
The bad:
The first and last songs didn't fit the rest of the mix. The first was too ambient, and the last was way too psychedelic and energetic. The rest of the tracks are appropriate, but I have some words to say about the flow.
With this genre I expect somewhat long transitions for the majority of the transitions, yet most of them felt short. This says to me that perhaps the tracks you picked don't really jive with each other, which means either that the flow/order could use some work, or that the actual track selection as they related to each other was too varied - for example, track 2, 3, 4, and 5 all rotate from chill to energetic to chill to energetic. While its very appropriate to have tracks in this genre of music that switch up the tempo, beat style, and energy it doesn't sound very good when you are changing up the energy on each track, and then going right back where you were on the previous track. As I don't own all these songs, I cant say for sure there was a better layout and flow, but that is how it felt after listening. My first thought is that with such a short mix, it might have been better to slowly build linearly with these songs than to have energy changes.
Flow is all a matter of preference, anyways. That is just my opinion. Take from it what you will.
I know I wrote a lot of "bad" - it's easier for me to write more words that sound negative than positive - so don't take this the wrong way. I did enjoy it. I'm definitely going to pick up some of these tracks.
will update w/ sand leaper's mix when I'm done!

I'm done as well now. This was originally meant to be a fun mixtape-like affair, where I'd go through a bunch of old stuff that has been sampled throughout the years by all genres utilising breakbeats. Then montana messaged me on Facebook and said that wasn't what he meant by funky breaks, but rather "breaks" as pioneered by labels like Skint, Fingerlickin' and Bolshi, which is the type of breaks I was never all that enthusiastic about. So, in the end, I gathered handful of tracks from the mid-late 90s, with a few oddities mixed in for good measure. That's about as fancy as I could be bothered to make the mix this time around. Beatmixing this in Traktor was an absolute nightmare, but it should be tolerable now, after a couple of attempts.

god damn this mix is sick, which is what i was expecting given some of your other mixes and the genre. where can I download? i need this
sorry i dont have anything else to say - its funky as hell. I love it. I'm barely 15 mins into it. I'll come back and edit more if it suddenly falls apart but I don't see that happening.
I'm definitely going to be picking up all of these tracks
e: Finished it. some funky tempo stuff around the 20 min mark. that's all i noticed. Really enjoyed it. Not 100% sure all the tracks are straight up "funky breaks"? but to my ears, I couldnt tell.
