DJ Jon Cockle - JOOF Editions (14/12/2013)

What a night! We have well and truly found a new home at The Loft. This is a much better venue than the H Bar. The high ceilings and big dance floor just put you immediately in the mood to dance as soon as you get in the door and as such it was packed and going crazy by half way through Dan's set. I haven't seen him warm up for a while but he did a brilliant job, starting with some warm groovey prog and building up to some great trance records like the Airwave remix of 2 Full Moons and a Trout and the Midnight mix of Digital Blonde - Noc2one

I came on and made a bit of a cock up by ejecting the wrong USB Stick (Got caught out by the 'link' function which isn't present on my decks, ooops!). Fortunately I got back in to the swing of it quite quickly and relaxed as I could see the dancefloor was enjoying themselves. I started out with some deep atmospheric prog building up to the epic Kintar remix of 'Angel Dream'. Then I moved into some techno, and finished off with some banging bouncey prog to set up for Alex

He was absolutely superb, opening with a tune that sampled CJ Boland - The Prophet. I think his set entirely consisted of his own productions, including the awesome 'Metamorphosis', 'The Box', and 'Harpoon'. Awesome!

John actually went on half an hour later than planned because he was enjoying Alex so much. He lamped it out when he did come on though. I loved hearing Duotek - Zlow, Mauro Picotto - Lizard, and Astrix - Coolio (Infected Mushroom remix)

I know I gushed a little bit to you on the night about this but it was proper. Sounded awesome in the club and sounded just as good on the headphones. It completely insulated me from the horrors of Oxford Street on Wednesday as I fruitlessly shopped for Christmas presents, no mean feat.

As for a review of the evening? I shall just leave this here...
