Introducing: Me, my new website & tracks
Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself and my new production website. I've been trying my hand at this game since february 2003 and slowly but surely progressing along nicely. Check out my site at www.simonvoakes.co.uk to find out more and listen to 2 of my new tracks, 1 trance, 1 hard house. Let me know what you think, constructive criticism always welcome!
The bassline needs some work cos it doesn't give any drive to the song. The melody also seems way out of tune at times. Percussion is good though.

yeah i kept going back to that and over did it. listen to 'secrets' the trance track, its much better
your website is a bunch of flash and little substance. (although it looks real nice).
i listened to the hard house song. most of your melodies are in the wrong key and are clashing with each other. and to be honest i didnt know what the heck was going on in the song at all. all of these different melodies going on at the same time. it just sounded all over the place. there was no feeling to the song at all. i thought the voice was real cheesey. the bass definitely is in the wrong key.
ill be honest, i thought it was trash at this level. perhaps if you tried to tighen the sounds up. fix the production, change levels of the sounds, stick to a key, add so reverb or some kind of effect, try to input some kind of feeling into the song rather than just a mish-mash of different sounds... cuz thats not what good electronic dance music is. i think you can still salvage this. maybe its just the program your using. what kind are you using?
anyway, sorry to be so blunt. work on your music more before you say its done. show it around to some of your friends. get an input then make some changes. its a long process.
