Listening.

The bass is groovy, but the synth thing you put on top of it doesnt play well with the bassline at all.

The vocals samples are nice.

And the little synth melody you play with the vocals midway into the song sounds very good.

The piano is ok it works, but maybe u should play with that synth melody all the way in the break too.

When the tracks kicks back in, it lacks a bit punch.
Maybe you could arrange that differently.

The first 2/3 of the track is nice, but the last part doesnt sound finished.

Thanks for the fast and detailed reply.
You said that a bit punch is missing when the track kicks back. Any suggestions how to create that punch? I don't know how to change to arrangement for that.

Btw:The vocals are actually chopped out of the original vocals from Holly (http://www.looperman.com/acapellas_detail.php?aid=258)
I used the technique from the excellent Airbase tutorial for that (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75P0pqR9Gfc)

Maybe I'll rework the last part of the track next week, if I have the time.

Not sure, struggling with the exact same thing as we speak now.

Pros: Melodies, chopped vocals(I usually love them)

Cons: Boring Percussion during intro(make it a tad groovier)

Maybe use sidechain to bring out the initial transients of the kick.

Thanks Beatflux.
You're right, the percussions could be more interessing (I'll try to fix that next week or so)
Thanks for the sidechaining tip. I've read something about sidechaining but never applied it anywhere.
Damn, I definitely need more free time

intro > too empty
vocals > i like but need more fx / chopping etc
bassline > needs more 16th (or delays) to make it a bit more "running"
Piano > measure 1 <> 12 ok, 13<>16 please play something different, that's a serious downer....... it now sounds like a mashup between a dreamy piano and a phrase out of a toy piano...
Everything else on top?!? > needs rework and more thickness

so overall i like the idea, hear some potential hooks, but a lot of rework needs to be done

Layer sounds, pan, use reverb and delay, maybe some gentle pads in the background etc.

percussionwise try to use at least 6 percussion instrument in the busiest part of your drumloop
