Kevin Shawn - Brass Piano (Full)

A little different I guess I've been struggling with the main "Horn/brass" lead for the past few days and have had a few different directions all of which never sounded as good as the original brass trumpet type sound.

My other 2 sets of ears (girlfriend and friend) don't like the horn but what do they know

Feedback both positive and negative welcomed as always

I can't listen too loud at the mo 'cos my headphones are crackling.

The mix seems to bounce along nicely, and the core percussion is sound.

I'll have another listen tomorrow, but the lead/brass sound that comes in just after 2.00 really screams through the mix (at least on my PC desktops at low volume. I think a little modulation here and there along with some automated reverb effects would keep it fresh all the way through. I'm also hearing a synced lead effect on it too, not sure how you'd pull that off though.

Just listened to this on a Funktion 1 system and although I thought the lead would sound way overpowering it was almost too quiet. I think a little boost in the upper frequencies and some careful mid boosting would make this sound a little cleaner.

I reviewed my own track

Oops, I forgot to come back to this

You're right, the lead isn't too loud at all now i've listened again.

Lots of nice groove in there. A bit of a reverb tweak here and there and some extra 'stuff' and it's a winner imo.

ya know, i listened to this a couple of times.
First time, I wasnt for sure, but then...it grew on me.

As an observation and personal preference there are areas I feel you can work with.
I love the "pulsing" in and out but feel it could use something that will balance the voids of the outs [If your following what im saying]
Maybe some cymbals like a Cabasa or a shaker.

btw...LOVE the 3:40 mark, very erotic

Id also play around with your stereo wide settings a bit, make it a little more "fuller". A EQ adjustment with some of the highs wouldnt hurt either.

Pretty cool man...I for sure want to hear the final mix on this. Its very very catchy.

Enjoying the laid back clean percs.
The piano and brass don't move m,e - but that could well be personal as I've always had a pathalogical distaste from any brass sound ever.

I reckon you could develop more atmosheric weirdness in the back ground - from the start to give the track some more tension and mood.

Nice clean mix Kev.
