An exploration into dissonance

My first real foray into musical production...

link

Comments of all kinds appreciated.

Oh...it's obvious when you listen to it, but it's just a sample.

Interesting. Does it come with a "made in India" sticker? The kick needs to be stronger, it sounds weird having the percussion louder than the kick.

Also, maybe some eq to clean each element out. Nothing really stands out from the mix, they all sound a little cluttered.

Interesting stlye though, a bit short to give any other comments.

Yeah everything's muddy because, well, I don't know shit about mastering. And yeah, it was made with the synths tuned to the Indian tuning system. It's my first production so I don't really expect too much out of it...

Wow, I'm so proud of you!

To be honest.. not to bad for being first production really.
Too bad it's so short, hard to say much about it.

I would use more layers to thicken the synths. And as cheggy said, the kicks need to be stronger.
Not my style, needs some energy to come alive... happy producing!

Thanks Micro5lave, I appreciate it.

Since then I've cleaned up the sound a lot, a little eq'ing can do wonders

And it's short cause I was just laying down the basis for the track...I'll upload a more refined version in a few days.

Using these type of sounds is interesting.

I don't find the kick very punchy, clap could also be more in-your-face. Like you said, muddy mix. Try to position the sounds better, and watch out with the longish instruments (long attack/release), they clutter up stuff.
