thanks for the support your #1 producer, all your tracks rock so much harder than any of mine, i bet you make millions from your mp3/cd/vinyl sales, good for you for having a record label, i cant believe you produce only with reason, you must have so much money for promotion, wow your also athletic and good looking?

Thanks. but you are truly better at everything than me

...ouch. Go easy cowboy

I cant write uplifting melodies to save myself, so I'm not going to comment on it. The lead sound is fairly cliche though. If your going for teh massiv supersaw sound try using a synth that does them well like that reaktor ensemble that was going around recently or superwave pro. Everyone is so used to hearing superdupermegasaws these days that you got to do it really well otherwise it just sounds cliche.

Bassline is clipping or theres too much overdrive on it. Effect is interesting however. Try toning it down by doubling it up with a more conventional bass sound to provide some solid bottom end. You can then hipass filter the fx bass to get an interesting but not overpowering effect.

You prob need to add more percussion too. The highhats are too quiet and have a boom-tish feel to them.

Aside, the panning on the lead is pretty good. It has a very wide feel, something I have trouble with myself. The track generally has a big uplifting in your face feel to it which I like. I think you just need to spend more time on refining it and just generally improve the production. Its lacking a theme or mood also... might want to think about that.

thanks for giving the reasons why ^

that reeally helps me-(maybe this was more obvious sarcasm for you)

apparently you were too 'confused' about my last post.

'distorted really bad? kinda sucks when your listening to it on 1watt laptop speakers...

thanks Axolotyl: but I disagree with you on a couple of things, for example: I think i did a pretty great job on a cliche lead, also ---'Its lacking a theme'???? what more of a theme do you want- the theme is right there, in your face, i just don't understand.

Fair enough, its just my opinion. Not every tracks have themes, but in my opinion, the good ones do. Its just another word for mood or the way that some tracks tell a story.

OK, I gave it another listen and maybe its not the theme. I think atmosphere or mood would have been a better choice of words. Its hard to tell since its a main bit sample. Basically the melody is a fairly sombre melancholic one, but the lead feels like its stuck out there and too obvious which is creating this standoff between the mood of the track and the obvious nature of the lead. If you hide the lead amongst other elements, I think you'll find that it has even more impact than if it was as bright and as cliche as it is.

Its hard when you get into aesthetic elements of tracks since its a personal thing. But I'd basically say that the elements need some glue to bind them together. Hope that explains my review a bit better.

PS: and Alanzo... you look like your 12 yeard old dude.. wtf?!

yes it does Axolotyl, thank you for your time

i guess you'd have to listen to the whole track to feel the atmosphere/mood/sense of movement in the track. this 2min sample is just the main theme/element that drives the song, and knowing trance tracks usualy have 1-3 different main elements/themes that guide the track. then i hope you realize 2min isn't going to give you the same impression.

planning on putting up a 96k stream up soon.

alanzo: ok, no more sarcasm then: I think you are the worst reviewer, even more so than n00bs that don't know what they are talking about, they seem to have more depth in their review process.

Bass is distorted and the percs dissappear. Pads sounds good. I think you need a secondary lead to back up the melody there, sounds boring...

Hey iloop

Listening to it now - that bassline is very nice indeed, could maybe do with a bit more reverb , just a little - and although generic - the big synths hits would work nicely in a club I think. maybe add some more percs to make the song more full. Oh and the bass pattern at 1.44 - you should use that throughout the song!
I can understand why you are upset at some comments made, and I don't really see where alanzo is offering constructive criticism - in fact I think he is being a dick for the sake of it - then using that 'I'm very honest' bullshit.
I think if you don't like a track then you give reasons why and how you think they could improve it, no need to be nasty about someone's track...In this case I like this track - its catchy.
