Smoking ..umm..something Mystic Morning - Vanish Into the Center (Psy)

Hi there,

Been working away in the studio, here's the newest. It's high energy uplifting melodic psytrance/goa. Probably gonna run over it again there are couple levels that need adjusting. Opinions and comments are very much appreciated.

Artist: Mystic Morning
Track Name: Vanish into the Center
Mp3: 192kbps
Size: 13.4 megs
Extra: My friend Mustaffa helped a bit with it too, he came up with the bassline rhythm for the first part of the song.

hope you like it, I plan on making a variety of stuff in the future, i've just been on this kinda middle eastern melody kick lately

If you want to hear me perform in North America catch me @ Sacred Earth - Wisconsin, M.A.G.E. III - Iowa, Or Interfuse - Missouri

Thanx for listening

p.s. this is my second psy track i've ever made

Yes this track does have a very goa feel to it. Synth sounds are very retro indeed Structure is good and I really like the sound of the kick and bass. It has that kinda lo-fi goa sound to it. Nice meandering structure to the melodies and a very uplifting ending to the track give it a good punchline.

The mix sounds very flat though. I think you need a substantial boost around the 2-4 KHz range perhaps? The synths mainly need to be brought out more. Didnt really go with that sample at the start, sounds a bit dull compared to the mood of the track.

Thank you very much for lystening Axolotyl. Now that you mention it does seem that the synths need to be brought out a bit more. I think my ears were kinda getting tired and used to the song a bit. I'll think about changing that sample out as well. It felt right at the time, but alas you feel different at different times heh. Thanx for the second set of ears...I don't live by any other producers so I don't have anybody to listen. Thank you very much again!

Hey,
I'm commenting as I listen...
dreamy intro, works well. Nice FX and pads.
That synth @0:30 in the background is great.
Now the beat is kicking in. Kick and bass are solid, maybe the bassline could get a little more interesting.
The percussions are okay, something about them doesnt seem driving enough, I am not sure what it is, but you might consider adding another percussive element, or you try to add more snare work. FX and stuff in the background are really great though.
That sample could get a little more present. Try to compress it with a relatively high threshold and ratio.
The first breakdown is really well done.
3:10 ... nice lead synth. At 3:36 you got a really nice groove of various elements. Mixing seems pretty good too at this point.
Now @ 5:00 ... nice small "break" beat.
5:50: Things getting really trippy here. Nice arabic melody, reminds me indeed a lot of oldschool Goa stuff. Nice climax!

Good work. You got a nice Goa track here which sound really good and well produced. I dont know, right now I cant really get into it 100%, but I have to say again, its really good work, one of the best Goa tracks I heard on this board so far.
Thanks for sharing!

you have some very nice and interesting psy elements in here, but i do agree with Axolotyl about the mix sound. I find the arrangement flowing and well structured with new elements coming in just in time.
