That piano just sounds like a simple chord, no real melody in that. I mean you're using all the notes in the chord up and down so it doesn't sound special at all. The mix sounds kind of bogged down. Some of the production elements are there but it's a long way away from being up to par with the original. The synth in the breakdown sounds like a preset that you didn't change at all. Keep at it.

Oh and don't feel bad, 8 months in the production world is just a blink of the eye. Put a few more years into it.

I understand it's not a good track, and I thank you for your quick response. I'm glad I'm able to come to a place that not everybody tells me my tracks are brilliant and that I'm the best artist ever or whatever =P
Anyways, I'd like to know where you think I could improve? Do you think it'd be best to work on my mastering, or my pads, or anything else?

hey i like your track. You have good theory. if you want anything constructive from me, if youre pushing your master through something dont, be respectful of the space of certain sounds take up, it will turn a little muddy( non sharp )when you introduce a lot of frequencies over each other.

The production sounds outdated compared to todays trance. That isn't a bad thing really most producers go through that period or some choose to sound that way. The tune is definitely listenable. It seems like you have a lot of knowledge of music theory which is extremely important.

There is not enough percussion and those that i can hear seem way too quite in the mix. As others have said the sounds seem a little presetish. Time maybe to learn synthesis? You mentioned mastering which is not something you should be focused on until your productions are pro quality. instead practice mixing,synthesis,compression and just writing melodies.

I can tell you will progress quite fast because of how good your music theory is. I am the complete opposite my knowledge of theory is nonexistent so i can never write a full tracks worth of melodies and end up fiddling with synths instead. At least i am enjoying it which is the most important.

I understand you have goals which is important to keep you motivated. but focus on making music i think to many young producers are trying so hard for success and there productions sound bland like all the other asot wannabe producers out there at the moment. That will only get you as far as several minutes of fame on Tiesto's club life which although is cool will not bring longterm success.

Anyways, those are my thoughts on the track. You should check out the production studio on these forums if you have production questions. There also a lot of helpful threads on there which will be a great resource for you as they have for me.

Most, importantly keep at it.

You're off to a good start. As pwnage1 said, there could be more of an emphasis on the percussion. I was initially thinking this would be just another "I remixed this track and now I'm putting it on youtube" that is just a crappy bass beat with the midi on top of it. But it is, obviously, more than that.

Just keep at it and remember to enjoy the process.

I just gotta say, at 15 years of age, you got the discipline. Not many 15 year olds have it. Just keep working at it, you're really on your way.
