Hello! Velocity Girl - Risen (Radio Edit) Uplifting Trance

Hi everyone! I am fairly new here, just wanted to say hello and post a track i made recently. My hope is that just one person might enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating it!

I enjoyed this - couldn't get over how much it reminded me of another track, I think it's EnMass - CQ. So it's definitely a familiar chord progression but it's very well made, your synths are lush and that sense of class is there right from your early percussion. Radio edit probably not doing it justice though, might I suggest showing something closer to full length next time. Nice one

IM new here to , few of my co producers been on here for years tho... I agree with first comment, production wise great , but something did not jump out and grab me by the ears , a vocal hook, or a fx, just something to make it more memorable

Not bad but the mix is a little muddy - not too bassy; it just sounds like a lot of it is kind of smeared like you have a bunch of delay/time based effects going and not enough space between parts. This could be a stylistic preference however, so take it with a grain of salt unless you really feel it applies.

Other than that, it's kind of an old-school sounding track. Reminded me of a little of circa. 2000 Push only a little more developed, actually. I liked it, but I also think it's a little too emulative of the main-stream in trance, right now. - Again, caveat re: personal preferences.

Thanks for the quick reviews guys! I wanted that older classic trance feel so I'm happy that came across. Eddie would you mind mentioning the type of monitors you used to listen and review the track as that will help me better eq the mix!

Thanks Again!

It has got most elements, but the melody is a bit too sweet/boring.
you would guess to find some raw elements in there somewhere.

It now feels a bit like an intro on a loop of a dub version of "into the blue" by System-F just like the record is stuck on the 16 measures over and over...

Raphie,
As far as I know, system f (ferry) never had a track called "into the blue".. he had a track called "out of the blue" you can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgx_...feature=related

So I'm not quite sure how it is a fitting critique of my work to say that it sounds "just like the record is stuck on the 16 measures over and over..." especially when you're referencing some non-existent song.

Thanks for all the constructive comments so far!
VG

I like this one. Real wise girl. And Altec Lansing computer speakers - what I use for my tracks.

HAHAHAHA you beast

I got KRK RP8s if anyone bothers to know...

Anyways, from a producers standpoint, your melody needs a little refining. I thought it was a little too jumpy, skippy, happy, boing boing...if you know what I mean...

The sound design/patches may also need to go through the refinery. I don't know, cause I was born in '93 but the sounds sounded like a synth from the 90s hehe.

Other that that, your drum and perc is LEGIT!!! I'm really diggin the effects you got goin mixing in with the percussion also! Sounds very professional! Your drum/percs and effects makes everything sound so much better!

As I said before, melody + sounds + tweaking = sweet track! Great work

Movin on to your next song!
