Progressive Trance - Escape (Original mix)

What do you guys think?

Low end may be suffering a bit (in one way or another) as no monitors hear only headphones.

Would appreciate thoughts on

Production technique

Audio quality/mixing technique

Cheers in advance.

The kick is definitely missing some low end punch.

The snare is mixed too hot for my taste--it sounds like something out of the 80s, not sure if that's what you were going for?

I'm not sure about the transition at 1:30. Nice little drop with the drums that indicates something new is coming in, but then once you come back in to the new stuff, all the melodic elements fade in for another bar. That doesn't work for me--try adding the fade-in over the little rhythmic bit, so when everything comes back in it has more impact.

The breakdown is nice, but you might want to think about removing a couple of the elements--breakdowns need to feel a bit more laid back, for me, to have the right impact when the beat kicks back in.

At the end of your breakdown, the song feels like it's locked in place. I think it may be the way the stabs interact rhythmically with everything else; there's no sense of movement.

Also, what's up with all the silence on the end?

I'm sorry if this sounded harsh, it's intended only as constructive criticism.

You should probably check out the WIP thread http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...7&forumid=47&s=
