since i can't really afford nor want to overload on the whole cdj1000 and at the same time want at least one, this is my setup im willing to get

1 Pioneer cdj100
1 Pioneer cdj1000
Pioneer djm500 mixer

will the 500 give me enough useful effects on the mic and music? i know it has 4 channels so that's good.

another question is since i have 2 different model units on each side, will the cross fader start effect still take in effect. can i still do that? i was thinking of getting the effector500 but since it's just an add on and the djm500 already has most of it or all of it, then might as well spend just a little more and get a good mixer.

if you have time, tell me what stuff i can do with this set up. thanks

The DJM-500 has enough effects for the mic and channels..

The fader start will still work as it really doesn't matter what brand your cd players are as long they have the appropriate Fader Start

The CDJ-100 next to the CDJ-1000 would look very very weird.. a small cd player against one the size of your mixer..
You should get 2 x CDJ-800's if you have the extra $$$

i can make the effort saving the extra cash to get the 800s. but where can i get it. it's still expensive as hell. not much difference for the cdj1000s

I'd suggest gettting a DJM-600 and 2 x CDJ 100s. Unless you've used the CDJ-1000, then I wouldn't buy it outright. I've used one in Mars Music store and coming from cdj-100s myself, I had a very difficult time using them effectively. I beatmatch very well, and maybe it's just the fact that I only tried it out for about 30 mins, but it was still very difficult. So before you go out and spend a lot of money on one, definitely try it out first!!

The CDJ-800's are cheaper than the CDJ-1000's..
The CDJ-800's are much more money value than the 1000's... as i said before on your other post, if you want to save money yopu should get the CDJ-800's and if you can't get a pair of them, the CMX-3000's would be an even cheaper option.

My friend has had a pair of CDJ-1000's for just over 2 months now. At first you may be a bit confused with the features on the cd player, but after a week or less you would have adapted to the CDJ1000 with no probs. When you try a mate's CDJ-100 or anything else after your first cd player was a CDJ-1000, you'll think that the cd player is very much lacking because of how amazing the 1000's are... thats the reaction of my friend btw..

As far as I know, they don't have CDJ-800s. They have 1000s, 700s, 500s, and 100s. I would not suggest buying the 700 or 500s for one simple reason. They are both top loading and therefore you are prone to something that you are not with the 100 and 1000--moving parts on the outside of your deck. These can break off, get messed up etc, and I wouldn't get either of them for just that reason. Now with the 1000 out, there is no reason to want to 700s anymore unless price is a major issue, but IMO, I'd rather have the 100s than the 700s. The 700s have some cool features, like a sampler onboard, headphone monitoring, and cue correction (fastforward by frame instead of by time), but honestly, how many of these features are you going to use? Not the headphone monitoring if you have a mixer...there is no need, and if you have a pioneer mixer, then chances are you already have the sampler. This leave frame searching. Is it worth $400 extra over the 100? Not for me it isn't--and not with the fact that it's more fragile than the 100. I like getting some of the best eq out there, and I save for it, but I don't feel the need to be frivalous either.
