so im recording a cd that i have been planning for a while... ive had to start over a few times but this last time i gave it one more shot and went flawlessly thorugh the whole thing... and then on the last song...

my computer crashed

lost everything

all that was left was this 2.something gigabyte file of silence in soundforge's temp file

im so pissed
sorry i just had to let that out

aww fuck man i hear ya.

some things are only for the moment i guess.

That sucks... When shit like that happens in life I always find it hard as hell to get the motivation up to do it again... If you know what you did to make it crash though, let us know so we dont' do it

What kind of crash? Did it freeze or just shutdown or what? If there's something wrong with the hardware it's be good to find out just so this never happens again.

The worst for me was when I recorded a party that was being broadcasted live and whne it was finished the computer froze while saving it

yo that sux....if i ever got lucky enough to have a flawless mix and then have that happen i would seriously break something...

well about an hour into it, i was typing and all the sudden...

well the screen went totally blank i could only see the mouse moving around and changing pointers....

control alt delet didnt work...alt f4 didnt work, excape enter....beating the keyboard and clicking random places with the mouse didnt work lol so i just turned it off

and then when i tried to turn it back on it was stuck with half the taskbar showing up for the longest time...it took a few reboots to make it boot right : \ i donno what happened.

Do you run Adaware and a virus scan? You can get adaware for free at www.lavasoftusa.com if you don't have it already and there are many options for virus scans.

dude, that totally sucks. back in the day my computer would freeze all the time, and then i bought a Macintosh. haven't looked back since
