its probably not the scratcher's first choice, but the crossfader is fantasticly smooth for scratching on a 275, the only thing its missing really is an x-fader curve adjustment. its a good all-round mixer, which can be used to play anything really. the up faders would need to be a bit quicker than the 275 for it to be an amazing scratch mixer, but the 275 is built for versatility.
the vestax scratch mixers are pretty much the best in the world, and they are generally set out very well for scratchers with all the important faders nice and clear from knobs and things for some fast action. all the faders etc will be very quick and hard wearing (the 275 faders are very hard wearing too). you have to be careful though as they only have 2 band EQ's (scratch & hip-hop dj's dont really need anything else), so you have to make that choice if you are set on getting a vestax mixer.
i think the nearest vestax mixer to being the best of both worlds, is the pmc-37 pro, which is primarily built for techno but will be useful for anything. i'm not sure how much that would set you back over there, here it's £545 (on sale)
