Hey..How do u check whether the mixing is good or bad when you listening to a live set for an instant ?do you hear the beats or just how the music flow..

When evaluating a set, I usually listen to the mix, as well as the song selection. The songs have to fit in key and the set has to have a direction, not just random, song playing.
A dj is only as good as his last track.

Not sure exactly what your asking, but if you just wanna know if a set is good, its todo with both the flow and how well the beats are matched.

my evaluation depends on what I'm listening to... if Progressive or Trance maybe I'll pay more attention to beats and EQing, while Funkin' House/Techno I'll be interested in the use of Effects and acapellas/layering (obviously, tracks must be beatmatched etc but I won't bash Morillo or Dave Clarke for a trainweck in the middle of all that's goin' on, while I may be more demanding beatmatching-wise for Prog DJs).
But obviously all sets must have a direction, it must flow, whatever the genre is

firstly u should know what djiing involves and wat the dj is actually trying to do out there..eg beat/phrase matching, key changes, no clashes of melodies/vocals...
what sounds good to an untrained ear may sound absolutely shite to a trained one. And if u reckon you have a pair of 'seasoned-by-trance-ears', then chances are .. if it sounds good it is good.

Just keep listening to sets, eventually you’ll be able to work it out yourself.
