info on vinyl

this is a question to audiophiles and the like. Im lookin for actual INFO(not opinions) on the vinyl vs CD arguments (strictly from a listeners standpoint) Or I guess Analog vs Digital audio sources....you know what I mean....so if youve got any pages w/ that sorta stuff on it, help would be greatly appreciated.

For a home audio point of view, CD has the slight edge in terms of sound quality because you don't get the record noise that you do on vinyl. However, if we start talking about club installations, vinyl is the better option because it is analogue. This means that there is a fuller, richer sound to it and it stands up better to big sound systems and sounds a lot better at high volumes than a CD. Unless of course the record has been played about 100 times, and then it will start to deteriorate.

For DJing vinyl is the way to go, but for listening CDs and Mp3s 192kbps and above

i dont really have alot of info to give you...

ok... here's what i've learned producing for 2 years (this is radio production, not trance production)
with analog, it's a much richer and fuller sound, while in digital, it's more using the frequencies that matter and so it takes up less space, plus it's easier to edit and manipulate
i find that when makeing shit for the radio station, anything that i record to analog tape has a much richer and fuller sound, while anything done on the digital world needs more EQ work to sound rich

i do notice a difference between listening to vinyl and CD's... not much but it's noticeable... the only problem with analog is it's not too good for wear... CD's and other digital media can be played over and over without reducing sound quality noticably, meanwhile analog formats can only be played a certain number of times before they're useless. like our production tape that we use only have a lifespan of 7 generations, which means it can only be recorded over 7 times, on top of that, it loses a little bit of sound quality each time you play it... damn, i just realised how much i just typed... i'm going to shut up now
