On November the 10th i am going to start my very first residency at a new club they're opening up in town. im splitting the job with another DJ but he will graduate in december leaving the job entirely up to me from then on.
its going going to be a martini bar / highclass kinda thing with strict dress code and invite only type thing, this is what the owner wants. in his exact words he said he wants the DJ to be the highlight and be at a god like status, i burst with joy when i heard that. the place will hold about 125 to 150 people and they want me to play some popular/chillout music from 9-11 (for people to sit and buy drinks) from 11-1 they want house and then from 1-3 its up to trance! most importantly no hip-hop! YAY! for the grand opening we also want to bing in a bongo player to improvise on just a few tracks and we also wanna get a sax player for another night to do the same. kinda keep the place on the 'edge', which is unheard of in this place.
I've only been DJ'in for 5 months now and its awsome how things just happened at the right time. im really excited about this so i thought i'd share in the joy and tell you all that if you're really serious about it your dreams can come true.

its right here in college station, we havent picked a name for it yet, but it will be where the "library" is right now (which is currently a cocktail bar), its on the second floor above the "crooked path" (a pub) and its right on North-Gate (you know about north gate, right?).
btw what about that ferry corsten video? we're all dying to see it!

sot, ya i'm still not perfect when it comes to mixing on turntables but i got mixing on CD's down perfect... it all comes down to practice, trust me if you had someone dangling a job offer like that infront of you, you'd get good reall quick.
Sunburn, since this is a highclass kinda place but then agian it is a rather small place, me and the other DJ are going to ask for 100$ + 20% of what they make off the door, which we're figuring to be like another 125 dollars. we split that sum between the two of us... so looks like a tad over 100$ for a night, i know some out there get paid more but ill take anything at this point in my career (which has now only started).
