cdj-200 vs. cdj-800

i was wondering if anybody could give me any feedback on these two cdj's. would it be more beneficial to get the 800, just because its the 800...or would the 200 suffice. All im looking for is basic cdj functions. Want to get a feel for them just in case i spin somewhere where they only have cdjs.

or if anybody has any other opinions...what other cdj's that are between $400-600 are just as good, if not better than the pioneers.

200 if you are most interested in mixing (not scratching)

There are alot of good non pioneer cd decks that you might want to look at too...

No respectable club or lounge will not have TT's. If you want to get used to cdjs in general...you can do it for a lot less. Check out some of teh dual cd players maybe

they have the features to be very nice cd decks yes, but i wouldnt touch numark cd decks... nothing but problems with them, even on their single cd/tabletop players... weird ass problems always show up.

the only 2 brands id buy a cd mixer from are Denon and Pioneer.

Both have good dual cd playes

Pio=CMX-3000
Denon=4000s for starters, but they have a lot of other high end dual players as well

and in terms of tabletop players, i think we all know about the denons and cdj200-1000s

The big difference between the CDJ-200 and the CDJ-800:
- 800 has scratch
- 800 has 100% pitch control

Don't go for the Stanton S-550. It takes a fraction of a second to start up since the cd has to come back to it's previous frame. It's just too random.

Same with my American Audio Pro300MK2's... but that's what happens when you buy cheap CD decks

On the subject of dual players, the best brand for duals is pretty much known to be denon. Hell, denon even has a touch sensative platter dual now.

Pioneers are great of course, but I've had a few bad experiences with the cmx...I wouldnt recommend it. Also pioneer duals arent club standard like their cdjs are. Denons duals seem to be more common for some reason. Most clubs are getting single cdjs now anyways though.

Numarks duals are supposed to be ok too, but I have no experience with them.

If I were you I would get a pair of techs and a single cdj200 though. If you're set on being able to mix cd to cd right off of the bat, then dual might be your best choice.
