Traktor DJ Question

hey guys its been a while I've been mixing with Traktor DJ Studio and i gotta say its an AWEESOME program...most of the time when i press the sync button, it is able to match beats almost perfectly, however, often its slightly off, like you have to fix it with the UP and DOWn arrow keys (the pitch bends) so it falls in sync, but then it moves out of sync again after a while...I checked with the traktor DJ official website and it said something about having to enable an option first that would keep the two songs snapped in sync...i guess i tried that and it didnt work again, or maybe i tried it wrong :-/ will someone please tell me how to do it the right way? thanks appreciate it

well no if i wanted to actually beatmatch, which by the way is not hard for me, i would mess around on my decks or duals and actual beatmatching has its own type of fun, thats no problem for me, but when im in the computer mixing mood, i would like to actually get most use of the software of what its made to do, so i would like it to do what it should correctly, which is why i want it to sync the two trance songs perfectly...any ideas? because i KNOW it should be matching correctly, but it gets me mad the fact that i DONT know how to do it the right way...grrrr

Relax, there hasn't been any program that can sync perfectly to this date. So I suggest you take it for what it is[, and just beatmatch the living shit out of those mp3's], as there is no way a program can subsitute a DJ.

Pointer: Mixmeisters BPM analyzer (freeware) can help you to get the right bpm out of a track. It's acctually very accurate, down to 2 decimals. It's better than tractor's built-in bpm-counter anyways.

ive used traktor for years. its the same concept as with mixing on turntables. if its falling out of beat you need to correct and adjust the pitch +/-. ive found that the sync button is normally .1/2% out.

It goes off-beat bnecause the bpm isn't calculated correctly by Tratkor sometimes.

When this happens, click on the edit button that is below the bpm analyzer (Example: 138.7), and then hit the bar space as the beat sounds, that way you can claculate the bpm by yourselfs, when traktor is not aviable to do it correctly.

Actually the traktor bpm is not accurately in many causes, that's why i would like to learn do it by myself.

use a beatgrid on each track. thats makes the bpm perfect on most songs and more accurate on the rest.

And I think some mp3s maybe have a bpm-change in it. Don't know what the guy who grabbed them from vinyl does with them? maybe he just pitches them up a bit to make it difficult for mp3 djs?

With a beat grid and the use of the +/- buttons you can get mixes with nearly perfect beatmatching (I actually never made a mix that made me 100% sastisfied with the beatmatching).

And with this help, you can focus much more on the creative part of the mix and the use of eqs...
