yo, don't got much time...
a few days ago i went in to this dj equip shop and there was a gemini pt somthing...
i started to fool around with them and i wanna ask u Vinyl exps:
when i back que or W|E does the platter have to spin with the record(i had to press down hard on the record to do so)? or does the record spin acording to my hand and the TT platter continu to spin normaly?

As long as the slipmats are halfway decent the platter should stay spinning at the same speed while you back que. With cheaper tables that have less torque the platter will slow significantly when you back que. Try and get a table with a lot of torque, if you can afford it.

i'm not sure i got the right answer to a wrongly asked question, or did i?
kevin, let me see if i got ur answer figured out...
your saying that if i back-que on a TT with high torque(is that the power of the moter?) the record will spin Counter clockwise, and the platter will spin clockwise as usual?
i thoght that when backqueing the record and the platter should spin counter clockwise as one...
can someone straighten me out here?

With high torque decks, the platter should not turn with the record when you backspin. It should just keep trucking along in the usual forwards (clockwise) direction.
A platter that slows down/stops when back cuing is a sign of a lower torque deck. You can still mix music on them, but it will make beat matching and such a bit more difficult.
