Some Will Hate this Question.................

DJM800 or A&H Xone92+Kaoss Pad 2

Will the Kaoss Pas 2 add the same level of extra effects to bring the Xone92 up to the [effects] level of the 800?

DannyO has a Kaos pad, it's really fun, but really crazy. I personally rather the knobs and buttons of a efx500/1000 than the pad, but that's just my style.

I had the Kaoss Pad 2, and just sold it. It's fine. I just didn't end up using it much. Only so many times you want to hear a big "swooooosh" in the middle of a track, and the sampler on it isn't very useful.

Many of the effects on it that "sound good" are the filters, and the A+H's sound so much better that I didn't use those either.

I would think an EFX-1000 would be much more useful, if you like effects.

Don't get caught up in the effects hype though. They work great for techno and certain other genres, but for house/trance, not so useful. Having a beat-cutter type of effect that the EFX-1000 has could be nice once in a while, but once again, how often do you really want to do that?

That being said... the dual independant filters on the A+H 92 are VERY useful, I use the high pass filters all the time to mix. Take a look at the Xone V6, it doesn't have per-chanel eq's, but has a high pass eq on every channel. Gives you a really smooth way to mix.

The Xone:92's filters already surpass the DJM-800s effects, KP2 or not.

But if you REALLY want digital effects, then I agree with everyone else, the EFX-500 and 1000 are much more useful. The KP3 looks promising, though.

That makes sense punjabi, and everyone else. Cheers.

I'm going to get the Xone92, then a little later when I've saved some more I'll get the EFX1000.

Cheers All
