Axis 9 pitch bend probs

Hi folks, I'm posting this in here on behalf of someone who posted it into the forum on my site. I don't know what the problem is, and thought I'd see if any of you fine folks know the answer:

(and it IS for someone else. Do you think I'd use a feckin Behringer mixer?!?!)

Hi everyone,

I recentely purchased myself (second hand) a pair of Numark Axis 9 cd decks.

I love them! think they are great for the price, I use a behringer mixer and hook it up to my sony sound system, works really well and i get to use all the tunes i have been downloading for years and years. I have picked up beat matching very quick, and I cant wait to get home from work everyday so i can have a couple of hours mixing the likes of eric prydz, lifelike, trentemoller, luke chable, mashtronic, etc.

I have now come across a problem however Sad Basically, and this happens on both decks, so cant be coincidence, the jog wheel seems to not perform the pitch bend utility like its supposed to on some occassions!! it does everything else without any problems i.e. fast forward, rewind, effects, scratching!

Basically, when this happens, i have to upload the update found on the Numark website and it starts working again fine, its when i power down and turn them on again, more often than not, the jog wheel does not seem to support the pitch bend again, it gets extremely annoying!!

Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before? or can anyone point me in the right direction to get some help.... (its second hand, so no warranty)

It really is starting to annoy me now because it happens to both decks, I must be pressing something or doing something stupid that effects the jog wheel....

Such a shame because i love them when they work properly.

And while I am here. I also own a Behringer VMX200 Mixer which is a little old. Problem is the channel faders are not so good anymore, makes crackling noises and sometimes does not even react to me turning them up and down... is there anyway i can service this myself? or is it time for a new mixer?

I would really really appreciate some feed back... thanks alot everyone.

ok i used to have these decks, now c=sold and got cdj200, (wonder if these old ones are mine lol).

anyway i used to have this problem. in the manual there was a piece of paper that looked like an after thought because of a problem. basically it said you should move the jog wheel at all when turning on the cd decks and ths will stop the pitch bend function working.

but i still found that it wuld sumtimes do it, i also found holdthe itch bend buttons helped it work again. but then i found out if you do the opposite of the information and spin it when u turn on the player they worked fine.

soi would turn on the players then instanly span the jog wheels as fast as i culd while the were booting up, then everythin wuld work fine. its an odd problem with them but its easily overruled. also re calibrating the cd decks help too, you can find the info on numarks website.

I have one of these, and I get the same exact problem. I just turn it off and on again, and it usually goes away. Still annoying though.
