I was just curious if any of you guys knew how to record live sets you hear at clubs or dancehall events and have it sound halfway decent for listening to in the car or something. Im wondering like how when you see live sets out there for download by armin, tiesto, or morillo for example how do people record it because I would think if I tried it there would be all the other sounds recorded in there making it sound like absolute crap, tooo much bass, etc etc. I dunno...kind've a strange question... Thanks though

They have been recorded from within the DJ booth by the sound engineer.

They aren't recorded by any of the clubbers, as like you said you'd just pick up all of the other sounds within the club.

The crowd-sounds are probably picked up from a microphone in the DJ booth, or some elevated place.

There is also a practice among DnB-partygoers (I think it's DnB at least) twhere people place their recorders beside the speakers. It has gone to the extent that the arrangers of the club often set up special places where the sound is the best it can be so that people can record at least decent-sounding recordings.

As I said, I'm not sure whether it is DnB or not, but I think it's in Britain.

So, that's probably what your refering to.

I have a laptop with a Creative Audigy soundcard and currently use traktor to record my sets. If i wanted to incorporate cdj's into my setup how would i record this? whats the best free program to downlod ot enable me to do this?

Audacity is free and is very good with some decent filters to add after.
