Yup Politics of Dancing is Protoolsed (mixed in multitrack proggy).
3 deck mixing can be done in several ways. Some people use the 3d deck for effects, acapella's, overlaying beats (on sampler discs), etc...
But the best (and hardest) part of 3 (or more) deck mixing is to have CONTINUOUSLY at least 2 tunes in the mix. It creates a huge amount of energy and it's pretty difficult to do (don't start with it until your beatmixing is ROCK solid), but it's very rewarding. If you want a good example of such mixing, just listen to sets of Derrick May, or even better Adam Beyer.
Agreed it's more suited for minimal music (techno mainly), because if used on trance or house, it can make the mix sound way too overcrowded.
I used to use 3 or more decks (had 3 sl's at home), but I had to sell my 3d techie. I still use multi deck mixing with my cd's, but as soon as my other expenses will be done, I'm off to buy a 3d deck again!!!
