That is bogus. Not only is the information poorly presented, but it is written in a nonacademic language (even though it is allegedly from "Princeton"). Also, the way they're doing it is by taking pie slices of the record and extracting audio...however their method would have no way to accurately put the track as a whole together.

It's obviously not a viable ripping option, I just thought it was interesting in theory.
