I've had it for a while but was always too intimidated to use it. I finally had a friend show me a few things, then I went through the tutorials and spent a couple days learning what I could.

are there any tips that people have for someone who has used production software before, but never something this sophisticated?

I'm using it for production more than DJing

It's really not that sophisticated, just spend time on the program and you'll end up setting it up to your own needs.

Check Youtube. Some video tutorials helped me understand the basics of the program and then I consulted the manual for other features.
