Some labels have promo services (like bonzaï for instance). For a small (to large) fee you can get promo's for a certain amount of time. Surf to labels sites to see if they have some.
Otherwise, there are only two things you can really do.
a) get famous
b) get to know the guys at your local record shop real good
I'd say b is easier than a. It's your choice

lol you know most of the time I know better in music than the guys at my locals record shop...
depending where you live... I see the tracks on sale on the net or in mp3 before it arrives in a local store.
If you prefer to use your newest track on CDs and others on 12"... it might saveyou some money... by the record after its release...
You 'often' get more mixes and the label is nicer at the look.
