"A studio environment is there to be exploited. I don't really hold with these 'all live on 2 decks mixes'. If you want that, go to the gig." - Ben Watt

I'm well surprised at the lack of talk about it on here.
I like the idea behind it. But i'm like a pig in shit with my DVS system still. I enjoy the fact that i can rock up and play on vinyl if they have turntables or swap over to cd timecode if they don't.
I like my mbp, i like my 92.
I'm happy.
I do however want to see the new layout make it's way across to TSP. Loving the new highlights for loops/samples/green on white waveforms

+1. I mate came over and we mixed on my CDJ's and tech MK5G's. Though I love my 800's, the TT's were so much fun to mix on and really brought out the best in us. And I love having a beautiful analogue mixer in font of me.
The only thing that could possibly rock even more is if Serato brought out a new hardware box that was an interface with a little screen and you could plug USB drives straight in to it. So you could literally turn up with the serato box and a USB drive.

Watch that series if you haven't seen it yet by the way.
Cincinnati Bengals - Hard Knocks is what it's called. Great little pre season documentary.

If you use traktor scratch as DVS and you want to be really really REAAAALLLLLYYY happy, you should get a maschine or at least 1 x Kontrol X1.
As for the Kontrol S4.
I thinks it's great! Although not having 8 cue buttons / deck is totally crap. I wonder why they only have 4.
Almost all the tracks I have that are not trance use all 8 cue buttons.
THe faders seem very short also.

I own Maschine, and have a Faderfox DX2. I've been dabbling with the idea of getting an X1, but i like the small footprint of the DX2.
Maschine on the other hand is wrecking my head. Thinking of selling it actually.
I'm sure the Shift function will allow you to use the 4 cue buttons as 5-8 (poor english).
But i know what you mean. It would be nice to have them all there.
Faders are too short just like on the 800.

Not using maschine for cue buttons?
I don't use the maschine software all that much, but for traktor it is by far the best for the cues.
The X1s buttons are too small, and in the heat of the moment you can press the wrong button and totally screw it up (Just like chicks).
The X1s though is brillaint for the FX.
especially if you have 4 decks going. (Which isn't that often)
I have an 800, but this things faders look even shorter.
