In some issue of Urb or Mixmag (July or June, i think), there was a page in the front with a small bit about some guy that designs dj furniture. There's a picture with him and a turntable desk that hangs from the ceiling. At the bottom of the small article is a website about the guy's work. If someone has this magazine, PLEASE help me find it!
OMG!!! That is the most beautiful thing ever!! I can only dream of building somethign like that. I would seriously pay this guy to come to my house and build me that thing.

It really isn't that bad to build a deckstand on your own - I built one myself (along with a friend) for about $100 including all the materials and about one full weekend to assemble it. I drew my inspiration from the Sefour deckstands, but couldn't justify spending over $500 on a table like that. The good thing about building your own is that you can build it to your own terms and get really creative with it. Granted, mine looks nothing like that one guy's table with the recessed areas, but I'm really happy with it.
I'll take some pix of mine and post them here later.

you all go spend $500 on a fancy DJ booth. i'd rather buy 60 records and be glad I dont have to move a big heavy DJ booth :P

Yeh...it makes sense to save money. I think I'm gonna go to Home Depot and pick up Cinderbloxks and an nice wooden plank. there you go thats my DJ booth. And to get creative, I'll decorate it with string lights :-)
