Smiley DJ Sony MDR-7510 Headphones

Anyone try these cans recently?

They replace the 7506 and is a step up. I bought them and I can't wait to try them. Only thing i worry is that they are 50 mm drivers rather the standard 40. I worry about distortion and those things and if they could reproduce and accurate image of whats going on. I read that they have less fatigue than the 7506 so we'll see. The last 50 mm driver headphones i tried were the Allen & Heath ones and they were just way to loud even when the headphone sensitivity knob was at the middle. Here's a brief description of the headphones.

Review

Alright I received the headphones about 3 days ago and I let the cable in my mixer for about 48 hours. The first thing i noticed that there was hardly any distortion compared to other headphones with 50 MM drivers. It wasn't as loud either. No emphasis on high crisp highs like the 7506 or extended lows for that matter. The sound was very well balanced and accurate. Transitions were smoother than 7506 and I was quite happy. Another thing I noticed was that it had a larger soundstage. One thing i was upset about was the fact that the headphones don't fold like 7506's, but that was no biggie. The fit was actually perfect also, rested nicely on my head. The next thing i'll do is send the headphones to moon audio for custom OCC copper and furutech 1/4 mod and I guess thats that.

Cheers
Juan

they are not bad, but they are far from being flat. I have a pair, and when i check with my senns, the sound response is much more coloured (in terms of the jap crap). I might have bought fake ones though....everything is fake here.
